About the Speaker:
Luca Manica received the B.S., M.S. degree in telecommunication engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Technologies (ITC) from University of Trento, Italy, in 2004, 2006 and 2010, respectively. From 2012 to 2014 he was Post-Doc Research Fellow at the ELEDIA Research Center, University of Trento where he performed scientific research on advanced antenna design, EM metamaterials, and on tolerance analysis for radiating systems. In 2014, he joined the United Technology Research Center, Rome as Research Engineer. In this role, he worked in different domains from the verification of software for complex avionics systems to the design and prototyping of wireless communication systems for safety-critical industrial applications. Currently, he is employed as
Principal Engineer in Collins Aerospace – Applied Research and Technology (ART) where he is mainly involved in the design of unconventional avionics systems for communication and radar purposes. He is author or co-author of more than 70 scientific papers published in international journals and conferences, and author or co-author of 9 (pending) patents.
