Extending SHARON DSS Coverage to All of Italy
The ELEDIA Research Center is thrilled to announce the latest advancements
in the SHARON project — a groundbreaking Decision Support System
for managing search and rescue (SAR) missions involving missing persons.
We are now expanding SHARON’s coverage across Italy, leveraging newly available, high-quality spatial datasets and digital elevation model from the Italian administration (Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica – MASE).
With these resources, SHARON DSS can better support emergency responders by providing critical insights for path and presence estimation, along with improved mission planning and deployment in challenging terrains such as mountainous regions.
