LI Maokun

Research Staff

LI Maokun (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, Champaign, IL, USA, in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
After graduation, he worked as a Senior Research Scientist with Schlumberger-Doll Research, Cambridge, MA, USA. In 2014, he joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University.
His research interests include fast algorithms in computational electromagnetics and their applications in antenna modeling, electromagnetic compatibility analysis, geophysical exploration, and biomedical imaging.
Dr. Li is an ACES Fellow and the IEEE APS Distinguished Lecturer from 2023 to 2025. He was also among the recipients of the 2017 IEEE Ulrich L. Rohde Innovative Conference Paper Award and the 2019 PIERS Young Scientist Award. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ANTENNAS AND PROPAGATION and IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON GEOSCIENCE AND REMOTE SENSING.
