Abstract
This study presents a design methodology for subarrayed phased arrays (PAs) that relies solely on amplitude and phase controls within each subarray, achieving power patterns that closely follow desired reference pattern. The synthesis process operates within the power pattern domain, employing a novel complex-excitation clustering strategy. Results are provided to showcase the effectiveness of this method, demonstrating improvements over benchmark results from excitation matching (EM)-based clustering techniques.
