A specialized design strategy is introduced to find optimal trade-off solutions that ensure sufficient coverage in areas with weak base station signals. The optimal EMS layout is achieved through a binary multi-objective optimization method. Representative numerical results are provided and discussed to showcase the features and potential of the EMS solution in a smart electromagnetic environment (SEME) and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design approach. publisher: ELEDIA Research Center - University of Trento date: 2024 type: Monograph type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: http://www.eledia.org/students-reports/891/1/Enhancing_Urban_Wireless_Networks_with_Modular_Reflecting_EMSkins.pdf identifier: ROCCA, Paolo and DA Rù, Pietro and ANSELMI, Nicola and SALUCCI, Marco and OLIVERI, Giacomo and MASSA, Andrea (2024) Enhancing Urban Wireless Networks with Modular Reflecting EM Skins.
