Moreover, smart lighting in modern museums is a valuable solution for achieving energy efficiency and power saving. Within this context, this work is aimed at studying and developing an innovative methodology for the smart control of lights in a museum environment. The basic idea is that (i) distributed sensors measure the light conditions near the artworks and (ii) a centralized control unit processes this information and sets the proper dimmer profile of the smart lamps in real-time, in order to obtain the desired lighting conditions. In order to validate the proposed algorithm, an experimental validation in a real environment is carried out and the obtained results are discussed. %A F. Viani %A A. Polo %A P. Garofalo %A N.
