Moreover, smart lighting in modern museums is a valuable solution for achieving energy efficiency and power saving. Within this context, this work is aimed at studying and developing an innovative methodology for the smart control of lights in a museum environment. The basic idea is that (i) distributed sensors measure the light conditions near the artworks and (ii) a centralized control unit processes this information and sets the proper dimmer profile of the smart lamps in real-time, in order to obtain the desired lighting conditions. In order to validate the proposed algorithm, an experimental validation in a real environment is carried out and the obtained results are discussed. publisher: University of Trento date: 2017 type: Monograph type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: http://www.eledia.org/students-reports/724/1/Experimental%20Validation%20of%20an%20Innovative%20Algorithm%20for%20Smart%20Lighting%20in%20Energy%E2%80%90Efficient%20Museums.pdf identifier: Viani, F. and Polo, A. and Garofalo, P. and Anselmi, N. and Salucci, M. and Giarola, E.
