The directivity of the main beam has been kept constant within the modulation period by means of the joint optimisation of both pulse-sequence descriptors (i.e., ?switch-on times? and ?switch-on instants?) in order to avoid undesired fluctuation of the energy delivered at the receiver, which cause a non-negligible waste of the desired signal power in the SR, while synthesising a desired average pattern at the working frequency.} }
