In order to remove the contribution of the environment, the data collected with the SIMIS radar are differential measurements [Cresp 2008]. The overall concept of this technique is to determine a reference measurement, of the environment only, that can be removed by subtraction to enhance the interactions of the objects and calculate the scattered field coming from the targets only. The measurement can be performed either in the frequency or the time domain which mostly will provide the same information. In this configuration the measurements are made in the frequency domain and consequently time domain signals are obtained by an inverse fast fourier transform [Chatelee 2007]. date: 2008-08 type: Technical Report type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: http://www.eledia.org/students-reports/392/1/DISI-08-053.pdf identifier: Viani, Federico and Benedetti, Manuel and Donelli, Massimo and Lizzi, Leonardo and Cresp, A. and Aliferis, I. and Pichot, C. and Massa, Andrea (2008) SVM-based Classification Approach for Synthetic-Impulse Microwave Imaging - Data Format.
