The main emphasis is on the use of population-based optimization algorithms used for the retrieval of unknown objects embedded in an inaccessible region when illuminated by a set of microwave radiations. Starting from a description of the general architecture of EAs, advantages and limitation of state-of-the-art approached are pointed out and discussed. ER -
