Abstract

This study presents an analysis of the power pattern of phased-array antennas (PAs) using the quantum Fourier transform (QFT). Within the framework of quantum computing (QC), a tailored procedure is developed to compute the power pattern based on the complex excitations of the PA elements, leveraging the principles and theories of quantum mechanics. A representative set of numerical results, obtained using a quantum computer emulator, is reported and discussed to validate the proposed method, highlighting its features in comparison to the classical approach based on the discrete Fourier transform (DFT).
